Form:   Globose to upright bush with terminal flower panicles.

Foliage Type:   Gray-green leaves are opposite on the stems and narrowly ovate, 1-2" long, 1/3 - 3" margins with serrated edges.
 
Flower Form:   Small, two-lipped, like tiny snapdragons, in airy 9-12" long panicles on the stem ends.
 
Flower Color:   Violet-blue.
 
Flowering Date:   Mid - summer to early fall.
 
Planting Requirements:   Average to dry soil moisture conditions are ideal.
 
Soil Requirements:   Very well drained, gritty loam; may fail in heavy soils.
 
Growth Rate:   Moderate to fast depending on warmth.
 
Unique Characteristics:   Bushy, gray-green leaves with white stems and showy, violet-blue flowers on the ends of the stems late in the season make an attractive back drop for shorter perennials. Few pests bother this plant.
 
Pruning:   Cut back in early spring. Can prune back all the way to the lowest bud.
 
Time of Pruning:   Late winter, early spring.
