A very graceful and regal fern that is ideal for wet and constantly moisture areas. It can be grown in traditional borders in rich organic soils that are not allowed to dry out and watered deeply in hot dry weather. Beautiful in all stages of growth. The young unfurling fronds are yellow and bronze, these expand to rich light green mature fronds, that then turn a bright yellow in the fall. Mature clumps have upright fronds that gracefully cascade forming a broad waterfall of green or yellow depending on the time of year. Like all ferns it is slow to establish, but once it has taken hold it will provide years of beauty that is ever-changing throughout the seasons. Fertile spores form attractive panicles on of top of tall, pliable stems. They go through the same color phases as the sterile fronds, but mature a rich cinnamon-brown |
